Here are some questions that at least one person has asked us...
1. What forms of payment are accepted? We take all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. You can also pay through paypal.
2. Is my credit card information secure? Of course it is. We don't store any credit card info.
3. How are winning designs chosen? For Timed Contests -- The Vote For Art team and the organizations representatives narrows the submissions to what they believe to be the best 15-40 designs. These designs are put forward to the voting phase. With the help of the voters, the organizations representatives choose the winning design. We believe this will ensure that the best design wins and keeps it fair for everyone.
For Open Contests -- Each month, all the submissions will be sent to the organizations' representatives and they'll approve designs to move to the voting phase. There is no voting deadline! When a design becomes popular enough and has received enough positive reaction from the Vote For Art community, it'll be sold as a tee in our online store. There won't be any one winner per contest; there can potentially be hundreds of winners!
4. What do I get if my design wins? For Timed Contests -- You get a cash reward (set prize package described in the particular contest's guidelines) percentage of sales (depending on contest) and national exposure. Sounds good, doesn't it?
For Open Contests -- Winning designers will earn $100 upfront, $1 for every t-shirt sale and a $50 bonus for every 100 t-shirts sold. So if your tee is bought online 500 times, you'd make a quick $850!
5. If my design wins how long does it take to recieve the cash reward? It takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks. We use paypal to send the cash reward.
6. How many times can I vote on my favorite design? We love the enthusiasm. You are only allowed to vote once a day for a specific piece of artwork, but you can vote for as many pieces of artwork that you like each day.
7. What does it mean to hotlist a designer? It means you really like the designer and you want to follow their VFA career. You will be notified if that designer wins a contest, sells t-shirts in the online store etc.
8. What does it mean if I click on the gold box -- "I'd Buy This Tee"? It means that you really like this tee and if it goes on sale in the online store, you would buy it. This function gives us a better sense of what designs the community wants to see sold in the online store.
9. How do I join the street team? I like where your heads at! Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Street Team.
10. How do I write for your blog? Send us an email with your background and some of your previous experience. We're always looking for talented and creative writers.
11. How do I earn Vote For Art bucks? 1. Take a photo of yourself or anybody wearing a Vote For Art Tee. 2. Upload the photo onto your Flickr account and send us the link to the photo 3. Earn bucks. For every uploaded photo earn $1 off of your next Vote For Art Purchase!
